# credentials update

> Update credential

Renames a credential, changes its base URL and header or its login, or replaces its value. A credential keeps its kind. Omitted fields keep their current values.

```bash theme={null}
continuous credentials update [flags]
```

## Examples

Replace `<id>` with the resource ID from your response before you run the command.

```bash theme={null}
continuous credentials update --id <id>
```

## Flags

**--base-url, -b** `string`

New https URL of the real system.

**--body** `string`

Request body as JSON (alternative to individual flags). Can also be provided via stdin.

**--header** `string`

New HTTP header that carries the value.

**--id, -i** `string` *required*

Credential ID.

**--login, -l** `string`

JSON object

**--name, -n** `string`

New credential name.

**--value, -v** `string`

New full header value or login password. Required when base\_url, header, or login.url changes. Builds that start an agent after the change use it. The API never returns it.
