# Python SDK

> Install the continuous-labs package, construct the Continuous client, and list Simulators.

`continuous-labs` is the Python SDK for the Continuous Simulation API. Speakeasy generates it from the public OpenAPI contract, and it lives in the [continuous-labs-ai/continuous-python](https://github.com/continuous-labs-ai/continuous-python) repository. The package is published on PyPI. It requires Python 3.10 or later. The SDK is in beta: a release may include breaking changes without a major version update, so pin the package to a specific version.

## Install

```bash theme={null}
pip install continuous-labs
```

`uv add continuous-labs` and `poetry add continuous-labs` work too.

## Send a request

Set `CONTINUOUS_API_KEY_AUTH` to your API key, then list your Simulators:

```

Pass the key through `api_key_auth`. The `with` block closes the client's HTTP connections when it ends.

Every method has an `_async` variant, for example `list_simulators_async`, for use with `async with Continuous(...)`.

HTTP errors raise `continuous.errors.ContinuousError`. A `continuous.errors.Error` carries the API's problem body in `data.code` and `data.detail`; see [Errors](/api-reference/errors) for the codes.
